Pilates is my second career. I was part of one of the last group to train while Pilates was licensed exclusively through the one school in Manhattan, and upon graduation, I was among the few hundred licensed Pilates instructors in New Jersey.
Why did you go into Pilates instruction?
After a career as a journalist and later as a sales manager for an international live entertainment publication, extensive travel led me to seek a more grounded and sustainable path. Having practiced yoga and dance for years, I was introduced to Pilates by a female dentist who credited it with improving her posture and relieving chronic aches. Inspired by her results, I trained with her instructor and completed the required hours to interview and ultimately train at the Classical Pilates school under Romana.
