I am 65+, and after recovering from surgery, I lost a lot of weight and muscle, particularly in the core. I was concerned about working out on my own because, in the past, I always seemed to injure myself.
Eric started me off slowly and with lighter weights than I probably would have initially selected. He closely watched each rep to ensure that my form was good to avoid injury. He also knew how much weight to start me off with, how much to increase, and how many reps I should do. If he saw me beginning to struggle, he knew when to cut me off. As a result, I could see him twice a week and regain my strength and more confidently.
Eric is highly knowledgeable about anatomy, and at times, when I would complain that I was feeling a slight pain in a part of my body, he would either have me alter my movement slightly or put me in a different routine that worked the same muscle but without the pain. He then would explain the muscle structure to me and why the differing position or routine took the pressure off the affected area. These modifications gave me the confidence to work hard without fear of overdoing it.
I recommend Eric to anyone of any age who wants to get into or get back in shape. He is easy to talk to and knows his craft, and I enjoy coming to work out—even when I don’t feel like it.
